Overview

Ryan's is just one name brand for buffet restaurants owned by Buffet's Inc. throughout the United States. Others include Old Country Buffet, HomeTown Buffet, Fire Mountain, Country Buffet and Granny's Buffet. Among the offerings at Ryan's and the other buffets you will find pasta and a variety of sauces to go with it. The serving size for the black-label pasta sauces is a 2-oz. ladleful. The menu does vary by location.

Meat Sauce

Ryan's meat sauce has 45 calories in a 2-oz. ladleful, which contains 1.5 g of fat, including 0.5 g of saturated fat. There is no trans fat. The meat sauce has 10 mg of cholesterol. Cholesterol raises your risk for heart disease. The Mayo Clinic recommends consuming no more than 300 mg of cholesterol daily.

Cheese Sauce

If you ladle the cheese sauce onto your pasta, you'll add 45 calories to your meal. This sauce has 1.5 g of fat per serving, including 0.5 g of saturated fat. There is no trans fat. This sauce has 2 mg of cholesterol. The Mayo Clinic recommends limiting total fat to 44 to 78 g of fat daily on a 2,000-calorie diet.

Thick Cheese Sauce

Consume Ryan's thick cheese sauce and you will take in 50 calories for each ladleful that you put on your plate. This option has 2 g of fat, with half of this being saturated fat and none of it being trans fat. The thick cheese sauce has less than 5 mg of cholesterol. Saturated fat is the main element in your diet that raises "bad" LDL cholesterol. The Mayo Clinic recommends limiting saturated fat intake to 15 g per day on a 2,000-calorie diet. Marinara Sauce

If you are on a low-carb eating plan your best bet is to use the marinara sauce on Ryan's baked fish. This brings your calorie total to 120 and your total fat intake to 5.5 g. This option has 1 g saturated fat and no trans fat.
