How to Grill Asparagus With BaconAsparagus is a nutritious addition to any diet. It is packed with folic acid, fiber, calcium, phosphorous and potassium. Bacon Wrapped Asparagus

Step 1

Fire up your grill so it will be ready for cooking. You can also prepare the meal on a hot plate or an oven.

Step 2

Wash the asparagus to remove any dirt and cut the ends off. Coat about 1/2 lb. of asparagus spears with extra virgin olive-oil and season with black pepper, basil and salt. You can also use minced garlic if you like the taste.

Step 3

Divide the asparagus to piles of four or five spears and wrap with one bacon slice to a bundle. Secure the bundle with a toothpick. Repeat with the remaining asparagus spears. You can also add feta or mozzarella cheese and tomatoes inside the bundle, if desired.

Step 4

Grill the bundles for 10 to 12 minutes until the bacon is crisp and the asparagus tender. Alternately, you can cook the bundles in an oven: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and place the bundles on a broiler pan onto middle rack. Bake for 12 minutes.

Step 5

Serve the asparagus-bacon bundles with an egg-white omelet or warm toast. You can also serve them as appetizers or with a salad.

Place asparagus on foil in piles of four or five spears. Place two slices of bacon over each pile and grill for 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can bake the piles in an oven: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and place the asparagus-bacon piles on a pan covered with foil. Bake for 15 minutes.

Step 2

Toast bread slices in the oven or in a toaster. Afterward, brush the toasted bread with a mixture of olive oil, basil, salt, black pepper and garlic.

Step 3

Slice the tomatoes and place two slices onto the toast. Add one bacon-asparagus bunch onto the toast and top with slices of fresh mozzarella cheese.

Step 4

Bake for three to five minutes or until cheese has melted. Serve with orange juice.
